VA TECH and Siemens had been competitors for many years. With the initial takeover failing in 2004 the year 2005 brought success in this regard. However, due to antitrust laws communications were still limited. A worldwide approach aimed to create an optimal climate for the following integration of VA TECH. To minimize the transition phase management, employees, partners and of course customers and the public had to be convinced of the advantages this takeover brought. Communication measures to support this assimilation ranged from several big events, change management programs, internal and external campaigns to the precisely timed connection of the IT infrastructure to the Siemens network.
